Steve and I introduced ourselves over on the Tripawd Facebook page a couple of months ago, but we're just now starting to settle in on the blogs and forums.
Our whole story can be found on our blog, but the short version, if you will....
Steve came to me in August to be fostered through an upper respiratory infection into pre and post op care for a right rear leg amputation due to an injury from unknown causes. She never left. She is my second foster failure. Yes...she.
I have a background in veterinary care and am a volunteer and foster mom at my local humane society (though not currently active due to a battle with vertigo). In addition to Steve, I have a Bassador, 2 more orange cats, and a fiance! Steve and I are the only ladies in the house.
Steve is the embodiment of "It is better to hop on three legs than to limp on four" though she sort of thumped on four....
Thanks to everyone who has already made us feel welcome!
Right rear leg amp due to injury from unknown cause (but don't tell her she's missing her spare...yes HER!)
