Jaime and I are doing fantastically!

We went to the vet to get the sutures out today and the incision is looking great. The lower corner hasn't healed as nicely as the rest of it, but the vet said that's to be expected. Can't wait for him to get all his fluffy fur back! Now that he's off the meds, his personality has come back with a vengeance! He's back to his rascally self. He goes everywhere with me and everywhere we go everyone who sees him has to stop and give him some loving! I'm loving his little tripawd hop. When he gets excited now, instead of going faster he goes higher! Also....when he goes number 2 sometimes he loses his balance but instead of falling he goes up on his hind legs and just keeps on going. It's the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen and it's hysterical! He gave the vets a run for their money during daycare, but for the past week he's been doing fine staying home while I go to my new job - which is going awesome!

I was feeling a little down about Peace this morning. I have to go home to my parents soon, and I was just thinking about how weird it would be to be there without him. But then...I got a gift from Lori in the mail! The Tripawd jewelry was exactly what I needed and I love it! It's like having a little reminder of Peace next to my heart and it is so so special to me. I can't thank Lori and Rene and all my other Tripawd buddies for being there for me during this crazy time. This website is a beautiful, beautiful place :)

In honor of Peace and the lovely gift I received today, I'd like to share something else very special. A week or so ago, I commissioned a digital portrait of Peace. It came out better than I could have ever hoped for and with so many special mementos to remind me of my sweet boy, he doesn't feel so far away now <3

Awwwww AJ, I'm so glad things are looking up, you sound so good and Jaime is just rockin! What a fun life ahead you two will have.

You've been through such a ruff time, it was an honor to make the custom jewelry for you (big thanks to Lori, she has a very big heart!). Who made the portrait, it's wonderful!

Hi Rene! You do amazing work - you have a real talent. And I'm so thankful to you and Lori. The portrait was done by a fabulous artist on fiverr.com! She'll do small pieces for five dollars, and larger pieces for a little more. Here is the link:

Her name is Ellie and she's very sweet! I highly recommend her!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

I'm so happy for you that things are going well (new job and Jaime's recovery).  You deserve to have some happiness after the ordeal you went through with Peace.

And the picture is just amazing!  I found it helped me to have mementoes created of my Leland...it just seems to help in feeling that they are still close to us.

And Jaime sounds like he's a little "spitfire" right now.  Young pups sure can keep one busy.
