Hmmm...Awhile back wp the site had so e sort of hiccup where something similare woukd happen. If I recall, when you hit "submiy repluw"'you woukd get kicked off.

For our temporary fix we "copied" or "pasted"' every reply.

Hope you can figure this out!' Can't wait to see next video!! 🙂

I've been away for a while, so coming rather late to this thread. What a fabulous dog Tank is! You are doing an amazing job with him.

Re the swimming thing, my Meg has quite a similar story to Tank, having lost her front leg because of elbow problems, just over five months ago. She loves, loves, loves to swim, and still swims every day. (I put up a video of her swimming on one of my own threads). I used a life jacket for a while because I found that she was lower in the water without the extra leg, and I wanted her to be comfortable. I stopped after a bit because she just didn't need it, and it was more of a faff than anything, but it might be worth trying at first just to build his confidence. I'm sure you're right to be guided by Tank, and he will let you know when he's ready...

All best wishes to you both,

Meg and Clare

A quick video of tank today on our arvo walk he is still going strong he has slipped over a couple of times just being impatient and a loose surface which is a few gum leaves in the grass but he lets out such a disappointed moan when he does you can see the frustration in his face as well but he is still having tons of fun coming down the cane and now the cane burns are on he loves this time of year he has picked up mentally as well and became more demanding but that's ok he is hard headed anyway we are know conditioning in the heat as summer comes along and it's back to 30+ degrees Celsius he is still not keen on water he can't stand up in but he is happy to jump in puddles but now with Tripaws he gets a bit bogged in the mud so he is not impressed when he does either he just looks at me a bit sideways and hops slowly out of it.We are venturing up gulf country next month this will be his first big trip since the amputation so he will be restricted a bit but he will get his turn like the others but at the right time when it is safer to do so I haven't swam him yet till we get back because he needs to stay out of the water up there or he will be lunch for the local crocs tank was very fortunate when he was about 18 mths old he missed being taken by one in the river by only inches but that's another story and one I don't like to think about still.

Brilliant!  He is just doing brilliantly!  Tank is one determined dog!

On October 27, 2016, nearly 6 months after amputation, and 18 months since his cancer likely started, we lost Pofi to a recurrence of Soft Tissue Sarcoma in his spine quite suddenly.  His canine sister also succumbed to cancer on March 1, 2019 - we lavished her with our love in the interim, but life was never quite the same without her only real canine friend. Cliff kitty had to leave us, too, suddenly, in August 2019. Lucia kitty grieved all these losses, but helped us welcome two new Lurchers into our home and our lives, Shae and Barley.

Tank what a life you have!

CROCS? Oh my! Please don't be their lunch, you don't have any spare legs for them to munch 😉

We love seeing how well he's doing. If you ever see that he's sore, gentle massage realllllly helps:

What great videos!  I love how he is right in there with the pack!  And you live in just beautiful country.  What a great life for a dog!

Otis - 106 pound lab/Dane mix, lost his right front leg to osteosarcoma on Febuary 9, 2016.  Four rounds of carboplatin completed in April, 2016.  Lung mets August 25, 2016.  Said goodbye too soon on September 4, 2016.   Lost his adopted sister, Tess, suddenly on October 9, 2016. likely due to hemangiosarcoma.

Wherever they are, they are together.

Hi all its been a while since we have been on here we got back from our gulf of carpenteria trip in Burketown it was very hot and dry around 40 degrees celcius we had a good trip with no injuries or illness tank was a good dog he seen me packing the ute the night before and he was acting like a little kid before Christmas Day I couldn't go near the table where I keep my keys or outside the door with out him barking at me to go it was around a 13 hr drive to the property it's around 100000 acres the the biggest of the property's I go onto with the dogs up north he had his nose out all the way he barely laid down as we got a couple of hundred Klms to go he seen some pigs and carried on like a it was Christmas Day as he hasn't seen any since his accident and for the record tank has been a hunting dog since he was 4 mths old and real good at it but I must stress his injury was not hunting related I have only lost one dog in the last 14 yrs and that was tanks best mate crystal she was another wolfhound cross mastiff she sadly died of breast cancer and it was the most horrible thing tank and i had to go through  anyway the day tank done his injury we were just out for the day going for a run along the beach when he jumped of and landed awkwardly.once we were there the next day he had to watch the others round up the feral pests he was quite upset he had to stay in the ute and when we got back he refused to leave the cage even at dinner time he wouldn't come out so I had to feed him in there as well he can be a big sook sometimes and he has tantrums as well so the next few day when the dogs found one and it was safe he got to have his turn he was stoked and has been totally different than what he was a few months back and he has come back to his former self it was something he needed as well so he could cross another barrier that losing his leg doesn't stop him being with his girls.I also just finished my dog phycology and training course be fore I went so it's been a good few weeks of No stress.
