Offlinewell sounds like Carter may have had a rough start in life, but he's got a great owner now. One of our good freinds tripawd Maty underwent amputation at a young age age and went on to place 7th in the canine disc world championships. She's a real hero doing all sorts of outreach in addition to being an amazing athlete.
Carter's tripawdness isn't going to give him limitations, it's going to open doors. You'll be amazed at what this little guy can do once he's had time to recover. Once he's pain free I bet he'll really start to open up and be a different dog.
Bless your generous heart for taking this guy in.
