Peaches in on 6 th day after the removal of her right front leg. We are having drainage issues. Could it be the food or maybe vetprofen?

Could it be the food...

It is doubtful that the type of food consumed would affect the amount of drainage. Please consult your vet with any serious concerns. "Issues" is a rather broad statement...check out the seroma information in the Tripawds News blog so you know what to look for in seromas gon bad.

Seromas/increased drainage are common after amputation due to leakage from cut muscles, etc.  The body is trying to heal but makes excessive fluid.  Sometimes a drain is placed specifically for the fluid to exit.  I like support wraps for foreleg amputees.
