Hello, I know I have adressed this topic in another forum, but now I took some pics and would like your comments. The swelling is in the back leg on the side where the front leg is gone. The lymph node of that leg is a little bit bigger (I can feel it whereas in the other leg not really).
Pics are under http://horacia……pawds.com/
Thank you for your comments.

Leg swelling in just one leg could be due to overuse (using different muscles since the amputation) but the lymph node is rarely enlarged from that.  It is possible that she has an infection but then she should have a fever, reduced appetite, and a hot leg.  Bone cancer of the leg is also possible but uncommon this soon after surgery.  Some dogs with lung mets get leg edema but often in more than one leg.

I would have your vet examine her and do a lymph node aspirate just to be sure that nothing serious is going on.

Thank you for your advice.

The crotoxin seems to be acting on it, or otherwise maybe it was going away anyway, but this morning the leg was almost back to normal. I guess it will build up again during the day (it is the leg that she uses most). But it deflates after a couple of hours of napping.

Thanks again.
