Our Olde English Bulldog Rooney (5yrs) had his front leg amputated late October for osteosarcoma. He has now completed 4 chemo sessions (the last one was 1.5 weeks ago). Before this last session he had a chest X-ray done and it came back clear. He has been full of energy and acting like himself.

Last night when we got home from work he came to greet us and his head began to tremor. It lasted about 2 minutes. The whole time he was alert, and following instructions. It didn't seem to be bothering him. And then it just stopped and hasn't returned. We do notice he is a bit slower getting up today, but he has also been chasing his new cat brother around the house, so he may have just overdone it (?). Is this cause for concern?

Thanks!

Are you saying he had like a seizure? I would definitely check in with your vet or your onco. It is possible he just got light-headed. Shelby became slightly anemic with her chemo and had to have iron supplements.

I am not a vet so just saying what I experienced but I would definitely place a phone call to the vet for, if nothing else, peace of mind.

So glad he's doing so well otherwise!!!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Bulldogs and Boxers often have idiopathic head tremors which are no cause for alarm.  I see it sometimes after anesthesia or other stressful events so I do not see why chemo could not bring them on.  If you Google this you will see many videos.  It is a benign condition and should resolve on its own.

Hi Shannon, my dobe Nitro  had ideopathic head tremors several years ago. I found that giving him honey seems to stop them for some unknown reason. He's apparently outgrown them, as he's not had one for a very long time.

Paula and Nitro

Nitro 11 1/2  yr old Doberman; right front amp June 2014. Had 6 doses carboplatin, followed by metronomic therapy. Rocked it on 3 legs for over 3 years! My Warrior beat cancer, but couldn't beat old age. He crossed the Bridge peacefully on July 25, 2017, with dignity and on his terms.  Follow his blog entitled "Doberman's journey"
