Dog has no control of her good leg since surgery

I have a 9 year old Rottweiler named Raisin that had one of her hind legs amputated a week ago.  She hadn't used the leg for 7 weeks before surgery (thanks to back to back misdiagnosis) and ever since the surgery her good leg that had already been doing all of the walking, isn't working.  She can't stand on it and barley uses it as she drags herself around with her front legs.  Has anyone ever heard of this?  Her doctor seems to think she happened to get a tumor, hernia or some type of nuero problem that had nothing to do with the surgery.  I have a hard time believing that since she walked into that hospital and never walked again.  The surgeon thinks she needs some physical therapy.  Idk what to believe but she is supposed to be getting ready for chemo and funds are getting low.

And, please, consider consulting with a local certified canine rehab vet/tech for a personal evaluation. A hands-on approach is best with the issues you are facing with Raisin. There are many variables when it comes to orthopedic problems, and only so much can be done online. Visit a CCRT or CCRP and the Tripawds Foundation can even pay for your first visit! Normally if a dog was walking on the good limb fine before surgery you would expect it to still function post-op although some amount of weakness can be normal.  If you pinch her toe can she withdraw the limb?  Does she attempt to move it all?  Any pain?  Large breeds can get a condition called FCE (fibrocartilaginous emboli) which can cause these symptoms but without pain.  If the dog seems painful then a slipped or bulging disc in the back or cancer metastasis to the spine is possible.
