The pictures are still stored there. Just can't post them on here. You could print books or pictures from photfubucket if you were so inclined.
So as an example if you were to try to post on another site (not Tripawds) because this affects all other sites too. They wouldn't allow you to do that. You would still get that 
message that they give. Because they don't allow the 3rd party sites. But your pictures are all still there.

Just like with everyone having to endure this....this site...And everybody else's site ravaged by fuvucket....pictures shared with memories written go hand in hand....whether it's a picture of Barney to honor a "versary" of Jerry and the loving comments that follow,or a candle to honor the transition of Bruno where Rob can be reminded that Bruno's light can never be dimmed, or a picture of a steak to honor Sassy and to be able to comment that we now feed our dogs steak for virthdays because of Sassy, or kitty pictures to show anyone starting this journey what to expect............again....none of this is important in the big picture here.....vut it gives us beautiful ways to celebrate joyous occasions, fun ways to celebrate victories and loving ways to honor our heros who transition.
Okay....didn't I say I was DONE!!!! Just talking outloud because I CANNOT believe any human being coukd EVVVER be sooooo greedy they would do this to MILLIONS of people! As Teresa tole me though...only if 10% of the people pay that $400....the "company" still makes billions ans they can take their money and run.

I'm sorry Michelle! I know you have many of your pictures in Sassy's blog, so I hope that helps ease the loss.
CLEARLY photoFUbucket has NOOOOO intention of stopping the ransom scam and could care less about the monumental outrage!!! . I'm sure they had the percentages figued out well ahead of time of how many hostages would almost literally be FORCED to.pay their ransom. Some will.pay because they feel the emotional.loss, but many who advertise their products on various sites are losing income everyday they don't pay!
As noted on various google and news posts, the Ads on photoFUbucket more than compensated the s**tbags.
The percentage who feel like they are forced to pay will be more than ample to add to their slimy pockets.
Nope, no intention of reversing their scheme and no intention of making it the least more affordable or allowing a "grace" period. Working just like they planned.
Bet their wasn't one single photoFUbucket employee who got this screwed!

I did some research and found that a group of investors bought Photobucket from Fox media for what was considered a low price. Haha, Fox probably knew something they didn't know and maybe the investors aren't able to make what they expected. In 2011, Twitter partnered with Photobucket for third party photos - Twitterers weren't happy about this at that time. In early 2016 most of the management team, including the CEO left Photobucket.
Now with this recent action, according to Forbes Magazine, one Twitter user called it "extortion". The Forbes writer stated Photobucket will probably back down and "as Photobucket has become more successful, it has presumably become less able to rely on advertising revenue as its own costs have risen. Of course, given the way it's now hemorrhaging customers, if it does a U-turn, that should be less of a problem."
I think it's best to store your photos here and also look at also store your photos to an external drive from your tavlet.

Oh, and they are not responding to any press inquiries and have no intenion of responding to ANY inquiries. Haven't co firmed if they're a member of BBB in Colorado. Apparently the complaints are poiring in there too. I think the BBB gives you "x" number of days to respond. If you don't, they lower youre "rating"....as though photofubucket could give a crap!!

I've tried to access your photos, Sally, just to see if I can download them and put them on a disc or something, just so we know they're safe. I can't see them at all. Can you, if you log into your account? If not, then it's not just about third party hosting (and changing the rules retrospectively, which is what I object to above all else), they've actually shut everything down. That goes against their own statement on their website. Surely, they have to be breaking some law?

Sally, I can't recall if you've already answered this, but do you have the original photo files on your tavlets?
I know this sucks and is completely frustrating and depressing. We just discovered another members' blog whose photos have been decimated. It makes us very sad, and feeling helpless. Photobucket being bought by Fox just says it all. If anyone on the Interwebs has discovered a successful way to fight this giant, I'd sure like to know about it.
For now, there is still nothing that can be done, sadly. We echo what Kerren suggested above:

Anyway, I CAN still see my photos and tap them , hit "share" and, for example, send to myself in an email. HOWEVER, some that I tap show that "please update" crap just like Holly saw. Sigh......
Michelle mentioned doing what you two are talking about.....putting the photos somewhere ssfe vut she said I need a UBS slot ro put the download gizmo in. Neither one of my tavlets have one.
ANYWAY, as noted vy Rene and Jim, I can transfer these pictures to a "blog" (working on going over the directions vut, as you can guess, my screen doesn't match" the instructions! Gonna figure it out though!)
Doesn't look like photofubucket will.let me "transfer" them anywhere anyway!
