Spring has come to Norfolk, and after the snow and then the floods, the little river that runs through the meadows is at last at a level where it is once more safe for Meg to play her favourite game. I love this time of year, but, as the earth springs back to life, there is sadness too, at the loss of one little Pie, who will not be springing back with it. Who will never again shout at the lawnmower, try to steal the fat balls from off the tree, roll in the tussocky meadow grass. Pie’s absence is everywhere.

I’m so thankful for Meg and the joy she brings, her zest for life, her boundless irrepressible spirit. Here she is playing her favourite game. I haven’t added music, so you can hear the birds. Talking of birds, I’ve noticed recently, a barn owl in the meadows, who seems almost to follow us as we walk, watching from the trees as Meg plays. You can make of that what you will.

That is quite a little game she has going there!  Love how sometimes she jumps right in to get it and sometimes runs ahead to wait for it to arrive 😂  She is one smart Megastar!  So you have a barn owl following you now?  Isn't that a bit different during daytime hours?  I know our owls here are not often seen daytime they're more a night or dusk sighting.  Hmmn....does make you wonder doesn't it?  Wouldn't that be just like Pie to make you question if that's how she keeps up with you both?  Especially since you don't have Cardinals there.....??  I think of Pie everyday too 😥 She was truly one special girl!  Sending love to you and Meg and Angel Pie...who may or may not be in owl form today? ❤️❤️❤️

Meg, you are too smart going down to get the ball instead of chasing it down the river she analyzes her route which way is best! haha! She is sooo fun to watch! Very peaceful there and Yaay for Spring. Looks like Mum got your bloomers eh? You let Mum stay dry this time good girl!

You know my thoughts on the barn owl and Miss Pie, our human spirits and animal spirits come in all shapes and sizes and I have no doubt that is Miss Pie showing Mum her new wings!

Whenever the barn OWL appears, it is a synchronicity that you are, at this time, receiving enlightenment.

The Barn owls’ lesson is that this shall pass, whatever it may be that you feel is standing in the way, shall soon pass. You are asked to be authentic no matter how this may seem or appear to others. You need to continue on your path, as something will come into fruition just ahead. You cannot live out your life on the whim of someone else’ faith, skepticism or lack thereof. Your life is yours for the living and you should never allow any other to choose for you the experiences and how you should learn your lessons.

The Barn owl is a reminder that, even though things have been a little hard on the emotional front. You are to continue expressing yourself wisely. Do not conform to the beliefs of others. You are a person of great honor in the spiritual realms. Therefore your journey, however weird, may be one of a daunting task for another, but a task that comes without much effort on your part. The Barn Owl appears to let you to know, You are responsible for the path your soul will take and not others. If you aren’t happy with the way things are flowing, you have the power to change it. You must also keep in mind, it’s not just about serving the world. IN fact, it’s not at all about serving the world. As all that we do, we do for our own betterment.

The Barn owl is a sign, of strength Above adversity. You will overcome many things/obstacles in THIS lifetime. You are to use your innate wisdom for yourself and the energy given to you is for yourself. You must know the value of your gifts and understand, your power is not in vain. The Barn Owl, Is a reminder, You are more powerful than you realize, that you have so much within you, ready to soar and upon up to the world for all to see.

While you may not be above the life and it’s harshness, you have the power to overcome anything and you will. You can invoke the power and influence of the barn owl and Things will begin to materialize and bring epiphanies, which will allow you to see things very clearly. The Barn Owl, is no Eagle. Yet, it is resourceful in spite of. The Barn owl, will bring you Illumination. Those who come across the Barn Owl are usually Empathic people. And is therefore a reminder that often what you are feeling is what others are feeling, so those feelings, aren’t necessarily always yours. It’s Imperative to differ your feelings from others.

The Barn owl is a prophecy, Be strong. There’s something ahead that you cannot see. Or that isn’t allowed your access until it is time. Hold on a little while longer, you are getting prepared to rise out of whatever adversity standing in your way. Things will immediately shift and you will feel much lighter and blissful.

Ted Andrews’ description rings the most true. In my work with Barn Owl, my heart-mind link has strengthened and he has been an incredible help in my attempts to make spirit contact

Barn Owls are amazing animal spirit guides. They bring a host of gifts to those with whom they choose to work. Ted Andrews writes at length about attributes of the Barn Owl in Animal Speak. He characterizes Barn Owl as a teacher of many mysteries, including stealth, clairvoyance, clairaudience, spirit contact, and mediumship. Andrews adds that Barn Owl can also help those with whom he works to establish a strong link between the heart and the mind.

MEG IS ABSOLUTELY. BRILLIANT!!!  Truly brilliant!!!   REALLY!    She is sooooo smart to figure out how to rule over her ball and stream game!!!   I have to say, I was exhausted just watching her.  She must sleep like a rock when she gets home!

At first when she brought the ball back to shore I thought she didn't mesn to roll it back in the water HA!   Not the case!  She knew exacw what she was doing.  And then when she was done, she broughw the ball further up on land away from the water.   I am soooooooo in awe of this dog!

All of the videos of Meg are my favorite....this is another "favorite"!

With love and light

Aww, thanks, Linda, Holly and Sally for watching. I've always been fascinated by Meg's games and it was lovely to share this with you. She is scary smart, it's true. I love the way she thinks ahead. She will never drop a ball into still water, a pond or lake, for example. In those circumstances, she gives it to me to throw in the water for her (instructing me "when" with a brisk nod, like a tennis pro to a ball girl). This is the flowing water game, and the faster the better, from Meg's point of view... She is clearly fascinated by the way the ball moves on its own. It's like with slopes too, she will take her ball to the top of the slope and drop it to watch it roll down.

You would think it would be exhausting, Sally, yes, but the MegaStar does not tire easily. She was at it for more than two hours yesterday, pretty much non stop,  then when we got home set straight to digging the lettuce patch...

Who knows, re the barn owl? Thanks, Sally, for all that research, which is pretty amazing (and uplifting) to read. Personally I've tended to think of these things more in terms of metaphors than literal truths, ways of talking and thinking about things, but the one thing I am absolutely certain of is that I really know nothing at all. And there are so many magical/impossible things that we regard almost as commonplace events, birth and death, for example, or seeing the stars from hundreds of years ago. So why shouldn't Pie's spirit have settled in a barn owl? Stranger things have happened. And I'm sure she would be drawn to the sort of rounded shape, she inhabited in her Pie clothes...

You're right, Linda, yes. Barn owls are largely nocturnal, but you do see them occasionally during the day if it has been wet at night, because their feathers aren't water resistant, so they find it hard to hunt in the rain. But it hadn't, in fact, been raining, not  for several nights, which is why the river had gone down, so, yes, a little "different". Pie hated rain too. Maybe she was a Barn Owl all along...

Thanks again for watching. I do so appreciate it (and you).

What a great game!  It's better than one of those automatic ball throwers.

Meg is quite a smarty-pants (with or without her bloomers).

I wonder if I could teach that game to Elly.  Well, except she doesn't really like to play with balls.  Oh, and she won't go near water.  So maybe not...

I love every word you write about Elsie and every picture.  I'm glad Meg is helping you navigate these days.

I LOVE owls!!! We get a pair in our yard occasionally. I never see them, but I hear them calling to each other at night. And it is only at certain times, then I won't hear anything for months sometimes. I also love hearing about Meg and Elsie.

When I read about Pie it brought tears to my eyes. I know you miss her horribly. I am glad Meg is the active dog that she is because I think she is helping to keep you busy!! She is amazing the way she even throws her own ball.. she is so darn smart superstar

I absolutely ADORE your photography...those pictures are just stunning.. I mean frame-worthy stunning! They capture the moment and all the feelings that surround that moment. The one you posted of Meg this morning about Sally's tavlet was just perfect, 5:30 am and I was laughing my butt off.

Thanks for sharing the video and pictures, Pie is still here in spirit.. flying all around you and your Star heart

I thought all you owl lovers might like this. I am subscribed to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. They just sent me a video of a mama Barred Owl and her three newborns:

There are cams out there for all kinds of birds, and they will send you a message when there is exciting activity going on. Hope you enjoy!

BEAUTIFUL!!   STUNNING VIDEO!  Thanks so much for sharing.

When I googled about Vivian and Valentino Vultures, I got a lot of info from a link to Cornell.  Gonna have to sign up fpr their videos.

You asked in a post about the Vultures.  I did see a pair off and on checking out their nursery seceral weeks sgo, but have not seen any sign of nesting or eggs.  Bummer.  I've  definitely  seen the bavies and their extended family throughout the year though.

Looking forward to more updates on these spectacular  babies. 😎

I don't know how I missed this post and video.  Amazing.  Meg is very smart and I love her game.  At least this time no Bloomers got caught.  I really loved the picture of the Barn Owl.  Sally thank you for sharing that.  I never knew that information.

Keep sharing the pictures and videos
