Hi everyone,

I got the heart-sinking phone call that Theodore's ashes are ready to be picked up. We want to have a really special area for him, and thought that we'd love a beautiful pet portrait painted of him.

Has anyone else had a painting made of their angel? There are a ton of artists on Etsy, but I'd love to hear recommendations on here and maybe see your painting if you have it.

Thanks,
SnaggleMom

First, let me wrap you up tightly in hugs from all of us and some sweet little butterfly kisses from Theo all over your face. I envision Theo to be more gentle with his kisses as opposed to slobbery and slimmy.....either way...hesq sending you kisses.

Yes, bringing Theo home will be bittersweet...but he will be home!!!

And yes, there have been some beautiful portraits done and I'm going to try and n post ome samples here.

I HIGHLY recommend the artist who did Sassy and Brendol's portrait!!! Michelle can give you the information.

I was very blessed to receive a surprise gift from Murphy's mom and dad before my Happy Hannah transitioned. I can tell you...having a portrait done is THE most sacred forever treasure you could have!

Yes! Do it!! Do several!!! OMD! Seeing that one of a kind ADORABLE Theo in a portrait...grinning ear to ear just n thinking about it!!!

Okay, let me see if I can post these.............

I didn't have a portrait done but rather a large blanket that had my Leland's picture sewn in.  You can go to my blog "Leland's Life" and scroll down to see a picture of it.  I just wanted something I could wrap myself up in when I missed my boy.

Jerry had also placed it somewhere within the forums and included a pic (I'm not computer savvy) but I can't remember off the top of my head what title he put it under.  I'll have to look and see if I can find it.  In the blog I included the website that I ordered the blanket along with Leland's grave marker from.

Michelle had this beautiful portrait done of Sassy. She wrote about it in her blog here, with a link to the artist...

Sassy's portrait is so gorgeous! He does great work, and how adorable are those wire figurines? I could picture one of those on my desk at work.

One of my friends had a figurine made for me of Shelby for my bday. At first she had the one with Shelby as a quad-pawd but when she learned that Shelby was going to lose her leg, she commissioned them to make her one with three legs (same leg missing and everything). Sadly, I got it after Shelby passed but it still means so much to me - even has the tripawds bandanna and a blingy-necklace!

I do hope you feel a sense of comfort and peace having Theo's ashes home with you ... you'll see Shelby's ashes are in the box to the left of the photo. And her "shrine" on my bookcase includes photos of her - one of her first photos taken and then one of her last portraits done. I also have another "shrine" that includes her pawprint from when she was cremated and four of my favorite photos of her. Hugs and love!

This is the one w/the four photos and her paw print ... i was taking photos of my new floor so you can't see it really well but it's pretty big. :-)

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

He did a wire one of Sassy let me see if I can find it.  A Rottie missing the right rear.. He made this for me also.  I love his drawing.. I have an 11x14 of Sassy hanging right above my computer.. I see it everyday.

Hugs Michelle & Angel Sassy

Michelle...I'd forgotten about the wonderfully unique wire art. The guy is just so talented.

Alison, you've done such a beautiful "shrine" for Shelby. The little clay dog...how something so simple could capture so many details of her essence. Nive to see this again...really nice.

I had this painting done on a piece of granite. Maggie is on the right and Blink is on the left. Unfortunately the flash from my camera shows up on Blink's mouth. I'm real happy with the painting.

WOW PENNY!!! Just WOW!!! I do not remember seeing this before. This is just beautiful! I love the idea of the slate too. Perfect "canvas" for these beautiful dogs.

I can "feel" Maggie's soft velvet fur...she just oozes sweetness and gentleness. And the ehse on both of them...sooooo perfect!

Thanks Penny!
