I have always believed that the right dog finds us ...however that happens.  So if Audrey is the right one to come be Gator's sister, then she will still be available.

I don't think I'll ever have just 1 dog again ...I think 2 is a great number (3 has been a bit crazy the past few years, but I wouldn't have known that without doing it, and I wouldn't change it either!) lol.

Can't wait to hear the updates!

Haven't heard back definitively, but I think Audrey has a home, which is obviously the most important thing.   My daughter has a facebook account so was able to do more sleuthing for me.

Otis - 106 pound lab/Dane mix, lost his right front leg to osteosarcoma on Febuary 9, 2016.  Four rounds of carboplatin completed in April, 2016.  Lung mets August 25, 2016.  Said goodbye too soon on September 4, 2016.   Lost his adopted sister, Tess, suddenly on October 9, 2016. likely due to hemangiosarcoma.

Wherever they are, they are together.

Sometimes what seems to be an unexpected turn in the road brings you to a better suited place. If Audrey has indeed found her forever home already, it could mean that there is an even more special friend waiting for Gator around the next bend in the road.

When we were turned down for a lovely pup called Romeo, we were so disappointed. Little did we know that Ollie was just waiting for us to find him.

Here's hoping that Gator's new sibling will show up soon.

Kathi and the Turbotail April Angel...and the Labradork

Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!

UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!

As you said the important thing is Audrey gets a home.  The right dog will find his or her way to you.  Kudos to you for opening your heart to the possibility.  Otis & Tess are so proud of you!

I laughed when I saw the post about Gator finding a new sibling soon.   I went home to let Gator out and heard barking in the backyard.  There was another dog back there - a big shaggy something.  Gator and the other dog immediately started playing, while I tried to entice the dog to the door so I can check its collar for tags (lots of snow on the ground and I am wearing work shoes).   It is well below freezing, so no way I could leave the dog in the backyard.   Fortunately, I heard a whistle and found the owner driving by on the street in front of the house.

OMG ... I love this thread!!! I can't wait to see what happens next ....

If I had more space, I would love for Jasper to have a sibling ... not sure she would love it as much since she really has embraced her only child lifestyle BUT there are a select few dogs that she takes a liking to at the park (can't be puppies since apparently she has no patience for them). For a dog that came from a hoarding situation, she sure does prefer her solitary life!

I always wanted a sibling for Shelby, thinking it would have made her passing easier on me but knowing what I know now, it would not have but Shelby loved other dogs and it might have made her life even happier than it already was!!!

Now if I wasn't allergic, I bet Jasper could come to embrace a kitty in the home ... considering she acts like a cat most of the time. 🙂

Good luck and keep us posted! heart

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
