OfflineI can never thank you guys enough for the prayers, positive energy and good thoughts. Yep, Elizabeth, he feels confident he got it all. He said she didn't lose too much blood….that's always a good thing. (I had Shelby on standby in case the need for transfusions arose) She's home now, acting like she doesn't understand why she has to suffer the indignity of being in an ex-pen away from her pack.
Love, love, love this girl.

OfflineSo many here worry about the pain of amputation only to find that the pain of cancer was so much worse, so the dogs sail through the amputation. Dakota was not in pain, so we didn't benefit that way. And Chloe likely wasn't in pain, either. I'm glad my dogs don't talk, but sometimes I wish they could understand everything I say. At times like these, it would be a blessing.
What is her recovery supposed to be like? How long will she need to rest, when can she go for walks, etc? Keep us posted on sweet Chloe.

OfflineHi Shari……………..well, still no pathology report but apparently Miss Phoebe did not get the memo that she's supposed to be *recuperating*. She's in the ex-pen with Shelby….it's hard to explain without a photo (which, of course, I can't seem to figure out how to post on here), but she's got Shelby cradled in her front legs and is *grooming* her.
We're doing leash walks outside to go potty, but I honestly think if it were up to Pheebs, she'd be tearing around the yard, playing Bitey Face with Farley and the rest of her pack.
I am very blessed…..I so love this girl.
Glad that Phoebe is home and I hope the pain meds helped her and she got some much needed rest! Hope you got some too!
Yay! Good news.
We were at the vet for our last chemo today and our oncologist, who is preparing for a conference in Paris, was mentionig that b/c they tend not to spay females in Europe they see a lot more of the mammary tumors. Not sure how/if that is helpful to you, except that if you are one to go online and read things you might want to look in the UK. Since we just had this conversation today, I figured I'd throw it out there.
Best wishes for Phoebe's speedy (but not too rowdy) recovery
