Asking for good thoughts for Shelby's *sister*, Phoebe

My 9.5 year old golden, Phoebe, is undergoing a mastectomy as we speak.  When I was hugging her Saturday night, I felt a growth in the mammary area.  Phoebe had been basically a brood mare for a BYB who dumped her when he decided he could make more money breeding *designer dogs*.

To say that Phoebe is my little ray of sunshine would be an understatement…..she's wonderful.  Always happy, always smiling, doesn't know a stranger and is a true ambassador for her breed.

Please keep Shelby's *sister* in your prayers….and ((thank you)))

Pam, I am so sorry. I thought her appointment was Tuesday — did something happen?

We are sending you lots of positive thoughts for strength — and luck. Kiss Phoebe's head for us.

Hugs,

Beth and Rick

Smilin' Sammy, March 16, 2004 – Dec. 5, 2011 Golden retriever, diagnosed with osteosarcoma in September 2010 — right front leg amputated November 2010. He fought valiantly to stay with us; but a second diagnosis of osteosarcoma, this time in his left front leg, was more than our golden warrior could overcome. He loved his pack — and everyone else he met.
We loved him even more. Thanks for the pennies, Sammy. They helped.

Hi Beth……they made an appointment for her because he said he didn't want to wait.  Speaking of waiting…………sigh.  I hate waiting.

Beth, if my friend Karen can come and sit with Phoebe on Wednesday for a couple of hours, would still like to meet you at the Ale House for lunch.  I have a *friend* who would like to meet you :)

Great! We are on then, if we don't hear otherwise! Is your friend furry and golden?

Scout: January 31, 2002 to November 7, 2011 Scout's diagnosis was "poorly differentiated sarcoma"; amputation 1/11/2011.  Scout enjoyed 9 fantastic years on 4 legs and 9 glorious months on 3 legs.  If love alone could have saved you…

Waiting is the worst! But you have us here, write to your heart's content and keep the chat window open too, you never know who will stop by. We're cheering both of you on and hoping for a great surgery, recovery and no more cancer!

It's better to hop on three legs than to limp on four.™

Thanks everyone………………she's home and can't get comfortable.  Poor girl.  Going to get one of her pain RX's in her, carry her to my room and call it a night.

Poor sweet baby. Hope she rests well and has an easy recovery!

Hugs to her and sweet angel Abby kisses,
Jackie, Angel Abby's mom

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. I'm glad she's home where she belongs.  Let us know how she's doing tomorrow, okay?
