P.S. @Sally, @Elizabeth, @Alison, @Shelby, @Sahana and others whose babies went to the bridge in 2014, please reply to my First Christmas without ________ thread in this same Tripawds Alumni forum with a pic from Christmases past, or just your favorite pic.

@Sally I haven't heard from Cheryl and Zach. Was just thinking about them the other day. Hope they are doing okay.

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Thanks for the sweet replies, everyone. You should have seen the reactions at the vet's office last night when they realized that Marshall wasn't Fannie Mae and that Lexie had to send us two pups to replace her.laughingThey totally got the hilarity of it all.

I thought maybe Carolina dog/Dingo + maybe some Shiba at first for Marshall, until I read your comments. Then I kicked myself and had to laugh at the irony of not seeing the Basenji in Marshall.

Lexie was part Basenji, and she did have a pretty high opinion of herself. ;-)  She looked so different from Marshall with her beagle/hound ears so I didn't make the connection, but the curly tail is a big giveaway...along with his pointy ears, the stature and build, and the attitude (love ya, mom and dad, but I ain't no Lab or Golden Retriever; I can take you or leave you.) It all makes sense.

Marshall cleans himself like a cat (so B-like), does the B-500 in the back yard, very smart but pays attention only when he wants to, is a wanna-be escape artist, the energizer bunny is not shy about letting us know when he wants a walk -- a real walk, as in not a boring ol' trip to the back yard. Lexie sure got the last laugh on this one. :-)

Our vet said she thinks Marshall is about 10-12 months old (closer to what the SC vet thought than we believed at first, which is good news for us). He likely won't get too much taller than his current height and will probably only gain a bit more weight before he settles into his adult frame. As soon as she saw him she said "You are so cute...you're like a mini-Dingo!" She thought Carolina dog was right on, and definitely saw the Basenji after I mentioned that some of you had nailed it.

Thanks for celebrating his arrival with us. More crazy Marshall stories to come, I'm sure. And Elizabeth, we'll definitely need that support group! lol

Cute, cute, cute! Both of them! Marshall for some reason reminds me a bit of Alison's Jasper Lily. Must be the ears. Maybe you should change his name to " Feddie Mac" LOL Sorry, could not resist. What a wonderful Christmas gift Lexie sent. Not just one, but 2 new pups. Congratulations! Lori, TY, Chan, Lucy and Daryl

TY GUY, Best Black Lab ever! Diagnosed  and had amp in January, 2014. Kicked MRSA's butt. Earned his angel wings on April 16, 2014. Run Free my boy and don't forget a shoe. Ty is a proud member of the " April Angels". Ty sent us Daryl, a Tripawd rescue in Sept. of 2016. Daryl is 5 +or -. We are also Pawrents to Chandler, a Border Collie mix who is 15 and 1/2, Lucy, a Corgi who is 7, 2 minis, 2 horses, and a feisty cat named Zoe. Zoe had a non skeletal Osteosarcoma removed in July 2015. No Chemo, she was at least 16. She is going strong although she is now completely blind. She is now close to 20 and her hobbies are eating and sleeping in front of her personal heater.

*Quick update* Thanks so much for the kind words, everyone. Unfortunately Fannie Mae has a skin infection and they were worried about her traveling on the transport with sores, so fingers and paws crossed for Her arrival on Sat. 1/3.

I hope Fannie Mae recovers quickly from her skin infection and is on the way soon. Just curious, what transport will she be traveling on?

thanks, Shanna. She'll likely be on Mutts and Mittens Manor's run or MAMAS' transport (Mary Ann Morris Animal Sanctuary). Both are managed and coordinated by an amazing network of volunteer and rescue leaders and volunteer drivers from SC all the way up to Maine.

Absolutely adorable!!!

I was gonna say Carolina. But then I remember my sister has a tripawd that she picked up on one of the islands in Grand Turk. Marshal looks a lot like her. I think it's the coloring.

Any-hoo, congrats!! This is such great news. What a way to start the new year!

Harmony became a Tripawd on 10/21/14 (MCT). She left us way too soon on 11/1/14.

She's here! Meet our Fannie Mae. And I forgot to give y'all the punch line when I first posted about her. In October I left my employer of 13 years for a new job at -- guess where...Fannie Mae!

Trust me, Lexie is looking down from the bridge with her Tripawds alumni buds and laughing herself silly at the total craziness of us adopting not one but two to fill out our family. She is giving Milo what he gave her back in the day. And she made sure she would send a special quadpawd to keep an eye on Mr. Tanner. Fannie Mae is more age appropriate. A rare pic of the three-pack sleeping...
