This is for Sally .... this is an example of what I mean by Jasper making "bad choices". I think the video speaks for itself.

I will say this ... she clearly does feel remorseful (Shelby was always proud when she emptied my trash all over the floor). Jasper just has a thing for paper products (paper towels, TP - a jumbo roll nonetheless, my bills .... ). I was on the phone in my bedroom and had locked her out for barking. Thus ... she found something to do!

Despite an overflowing basket of toys! One might think she's bored but she refuses to go to daycare anymore (hides under the bed when she sees her daycare collar) and we haven't been to the dog park lately but we play fetch nightly.

And to think ... the other day I was thinking, wow... at age 4, she's already mellowing out... sigh.. not so much.

She's darn lucky she's so cute! heart

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Don't you worry Jasper Lily!! We're not buying this staged scene for one second!!! It is soooo obvious you did NOT do this!

Clue #1. First of all, is that Shelby Lunne's purple bathroom mat?? We all know you wouldn't throw trash on her rug! 🙂

Clue #2. Remorseful?? R U kiddin'? Anyone can tell you are ACTING remorseful because you know the camera is in! And you never turn down a photo op, even if it means you have rro be OVER THE TOP CUTE to get yiur sweet self on camera! 🙂

Clue #3. Not a shred of evidence anywhere near your mouth! Nope! Not a single piece!

Clue #4 It is soooo clear ro anyone reading this you were barking to alert your Mom there was someone in the house shredding laler!!! And what does your Mom do?? Ignore you and lock you out!!

So I'm thinking Miss Shelby Lynne set you up for giggles! She knows your Mom would blame you. We know who was really behind this. We know Shelby and some of her wild April's Angels gang made a quick visit from the Bridge for some April shenanigans 🙂 🙂

Your mom owes you an apology and your own Jumbo roll of toilet paper! I'll have a trunk full for you when you get to Virginia! 🙂 I am sooooo thrilled about meeting you!! I am, REALLY!!! 🙂

Lots of love to you sweet Jasper!

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!

PS....You really should get an Academy Award for best actress portraying remorse! If I didn't know better, I would have thought you really did get in that trash!

BTW......What's going on about not wanting to go to DayCare? Did this happen all.of the sudden? Was there any incident that happened there? This is weird!

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

Oh POOR sweet Jasper Lilly. To be wrongly accused is just horrible. You were trying so hard to tell your Mum you didn't do it, and she wouldn't listen to you. It was your naughty invisible friend again, wasn't it! She's always getting you into trouble. Now I wouldn't dare go so far as to accuse sweet Shelby Lynne, but I see I don't have to, Sally's already done it for me. Shelby Lynne, behave yourself! Poor Jasper Lilly taking the flack. It's so unfair, just so unfair. Never mind, Jasper, four weeks from today, you'll be sitting on your Auntie Clare's knee, and Auntie Clare is a VERY indulgent and gullible Auntie, so you just hold on, okay?

Hey Alison, guess what:

YOU GOT TeePee'd!!!! 🙂 🙂

Ha ha!!!!! True dat I did.

So Jasper and I had a chat earlier today ... I read her your posts and let her know that she might have been unjustly accused. It is entirely possible gremlins entered the house while I was on the phone and she was locked out of the bedroom and she was guarding the house while they shredded an ENTIRE roll of TP (did I mention - jumbo roll??).

And when I got off the phone, she was rushing me out the door to potty as to try and "hide" what had happened in the bathroom....

Curiouser and curiouser...

Here is our conversation today when I got home today... no TP to be found: (and yes, we talk like this daily, hourly ... I talk to her - a lot ... as you shall all see).

And yes, Sally... that is the SAME purple bath mat that brought Shelby so much comfort after her amputation. I can't bear to part with it (but it has been washed since then). On occasion, Jasper has also found comfort in my tiny bathroom on that mat.

And as far as daycare... Jasper rolls to the beat of her own drum... every since she spent that week there while I was in Texas, she is hesitant to want to go back. I try and take her once a week (for her sanity and mine) and she loves it once she is there ... it's the getting there that she hates. As you all know, she also doesn't love riding in the car so perhaps it is a bit of that too. Auntie Clare and Auntie Tina can snuggle and cuddle as we journey out to Richmond! heartheartheart

She cannot wait to meet you all as well ... she knows she has big paws to fill from her Angel sister but she also knows she's pretty darn cute 100% of the time (even when she's barking).

Jasper Lily!!! To not have your significant gifts recognized is truly, truly disheartening.

We at Da Bear HQ see that you are a Pawcasso of the First Order! To create such a minimalist, yet deeply thoughtful collage with so many interpretations under such a short deadline is, well, a masterpiece!!! We see a tiny Mount Everest or even a modern take on the polar bears plight: clearly working in paper without access to snow was difficult.

But Jasper Lily, the critic came along and asked if you "did" this!!! Ohhhhhh, the terrible misunderstanding, the anguish, the inability to be understood!!! "Did" is NOT a word a Pawcasso should ever be confronted with!!! You are a true artist with a vision Jasper Lily! Stick to that vision and continue on!!! While others deconstruct Barney, you, Jasper Lily, deconstruct ubiquitous paper!!!!

We can't wait to see your next masterpiece!!!

I'm kind of disappointed Alison! I totally expected a lot more of 'te quiero, te quiero mucho'!

So if it's down to 'who loves you' we might just as well try this in German:

'ich liebe dich! Ich liebe dich so sehr! Wer liebt dich? Mutti!'

and hey! We have two hours to practice soon!! 😃😃😃😃😘

Jasper is BEYOND adorable!  Paper shredding is always near and dear to my heart because so many of my dogs have done that to calm their nerves or just because they were bored.  I also like to teach my dogs to pull tissues out of the box and that can really encourage the behavior too.  Cookie used to be a master tissue puller but she doesn't like the feel of the tissues on her tongue so much and the novelty of a fresh tissue popping up has waned. She'd rather watch more bear porn...

In 2010, Rich and I attended a presentation by a famous sighthound vet, Dr. Radcliffe, and he started it off with a description of all the things a dog COULD do with their free time which included vomiting, howling, digging through a wall or door, urinating, barking, etc and we were very lucky that most focus their energies on more productive things.  He included a bunch of photos of what he meant including a dog that actually dug THROUGH the wall next to the front door and got out of the house.  I had no idea that a dog could/would do that.  He sees a lot of SA dogs in his practice.

One tip, put up all but 3 toys and rotate the toys every few days.  For some reason many dogs can't handle having so many choices.  If you have more than 3 toys, they'll play with each one for about 30 seconds or less, and then look at you for something else to do.  Limit their choices and they'll play with the toys for longer.  I didn't believe it till I tried it and it does work for most pups.
