I don't know whether I'm beating myself up or whether I just need to see it to convince myself it is real. I have tried cycling through many banners, but that stubborn Chesador refuses to show up.
Things are still a bit rough around here, but the length of time between total meltdowns is stretching out. We are starting to say "when" we get a new dog instead of "if" we get a new dog. It will definitely wait until after we take our upcoming trip that is just the two of us, though. We need to do that before we make another total commitment.

Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!
UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!

Murphy's membership in the April's Angels Club sure did add a whole lot of fun over at the Bridge. I bet there are a whole lot of doggy laddle races in those pristine cyrstal clear lakes. I guess the first prize is always a bowl of green beans! Pretty sure Happy Hannah is ine of the timekeepers.. A bowl of green beans wouldn't motivate her to do anything!
You are still in a very rough part of this zeemingr never ending grief and void. Imq glad that yoj are zau "when" you get another dog. I remember how happy I was to go pick up Merry Myrtle two months "after". And I remember how I, without warnig, burst out crying several times during the long drive. Sooo thrilled to be bringing Myrtle home, and so sad this was all happening because Happy Hannah transitioned. The love and happiness I have with Merry Myrtle in my life was absolutely instantaneous though! And you will be getting TWO!! Yep, pretty sure Murphy and Gus will be sending you two!

No, I haven't seen it yet but I'll keep a look out!!! I know this is a horribly painful and sad time ... I think it was Karen who coined this "April Angels" rather than "Awful April"... As a member of the "April Angels of 2014" I know how HARD this month will always be but I take some comfort in knowing our kids are playing together over the bridge, loving on each other, wrestling, eating green beans,... taking shoes (Ty), enjoying deer poop (Hannah) and so much more ... It's a horrible month for losses but together, hopefully, our power as a community will help us rise a little higher each day!
I must have called Jasper "Shelby" a dozen times yesterday and in talking about Jasper, kept saying "Shelby".. someone told me that when you do that, it means their spirit is near and they are with you ... I like that! (and it wasn't the wine talking).

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Sorry you haven't seen Murphy's banner yet! The randomizer is "true random" and we have more than 60 banners now so duplicates can appear before any specific image. Rest assured, Murphy is in the mix...

This has tears streaming down my face, so I can only imagine what it does for you!! I remember how I sobbed when I first saw Happy Hannah's banner..sad and joyful at the same time. I hugged and hugged and hugged this stupid tavlet and just kept touching her image The banner made her "here"...NEVER TO B E FORGO TTEN!!! Soooooo pleased that she woukd ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED HERE!!!! And the pictures captured how she spent so much of her time...food bowl or stuffy in her mouth...but. ostly food bowl...and always wagging proudly and happily!!! 🙂

Thank you, Sally. Yes, that is the bean patch...or what was left of it before I put up the fence. I just love the one of the two guys swimming off, Gus with his tail held high. He always swam with his butt and tail up in the air. The smiling photo will be over my desk come July, as that is his calendar photo for this year.
We have had a couple of small jolts the last couple of days. Today was the first time we went to the bank and didn't need cookies at the drive up. Over the weekend our seven year old grandson walked in and asked, "Where's Gus?" He had forgotten that Gus wasn't here anymore.
We will be traveling quite a bit over the next weeks, so things will necessarily be different. We just keep on keeping on.

Yes...jolts..like an electric shock jolt! They come out of the blue and they are everywhere! The jolts where a routine that is no longer there really kicks you in the gut.
And sometimes you get a "great memory jolt" that jumps gently into your heart and makes you smile. Those jolts are sent straight from Murphy and Gus! 
Thanks for pointing out Gus's butt!! He really does swim with it held high! I'm really glad you have the one of Murph with his bean patch. There isn't a single person here who has traveled with you and Murph on his journey who can not look at a green bean and think of Mrphy. Move over Jolly Green Giant...you have been replaced!!

just wanted to chirp in and say Murphs banner is beautiful. It popped up as I was on today. I remember the first time seeing Snoops, just cried my eyes out, bittersweet. There are times when I come on and he's just "there" it still takes my breath away but it tells me he's watching, as I know Murph is for you guys.

Yeah Esther, after a year lf seeing Hapoy Hannah's banner, each time I still get a little..."awwww.. running through my heart"...and I think I get a little extra heartbeat going on too. Like to think that js Happy Hannah's heart beating with mjne. That's what I told her that day. I told her my heartbeat would be her heartbeat.
And Kathi, it was MONTHS before I changed our signature from "Sally and Happy Hannah" to adding "Alumni" (sounded more earthly...like still "here" earthly).

How do you make a banner. I never did one for Ty and even though it has been a year, I would like to do one. Would love seeing his big brown eyes. Murphy's is terrific! I agree with Sally, green beans and artichokes make me immediately think of Murphy. He and Gus were sure loved well. I have not changed my signature to Angel Ty or anything either. Don't Rush those things, do them as you feel it is right. Murphy is right there in your heart guiding you. Yes, those routine changes are so hard. The first everything. Yes, I hated the morning. I could escape with sleep and then when I woke up, it would hit all over again. That and coming home from being away. That is because we love so hard. I am hoping that some memories that make you smile a bit will start to creep up in your mind. Thinking of you, Lori, Ty & the gang
TY GUY, Best Black Lab ever! Diagnosed and had amp in January, 2014. Kicked MRSA's butt. Earned his angel wings on April 16, 2014. Run Free my boy and don't forget a shoe. Ty is a proud member of the " April Angels". Ty sent us Daryl, a Tripawd rescue in Sept. of 2016. Daryl is 5 +or -. We are also Pawrents to Chandler, a Border Collie mix who is 15 and 1/2, Lucy, a Corgi who is 7, 2 minis, 2 horses, and a feisty cat named Zoe. Zoe had a non skeletal Osteosarcoma removed in July 2015. No Chemo, she was at least 16. She is going strong although she is now completely blind. She is now close to 20 and her hobbies are eating and sleeping in front of her personal heater.

I am the same way .... every single time I see Shelby's banner, I kind of pause and do a double-take and my heart skips a beat. Some days I go weeks w/out seeing it and then I see it a hundred times a week. I know Admin says it is truly random but I also like to think her Spirit is coming and helping me see that she's always there with me ... when I need her.
