Us too! David and I were just talking about that a little while ago. I didn't hear back from the doctor tonight so I will take that as no news is good news. I imagine we'll hear fairly early tomorrow. Have a good night!

Paws crossed for Huckleberry to return home tomorrow . Sounds like he is doing great at the Vets so glad to hear he is even taking his meds for them YAAAY Huckleberry. Look forward to hearing he is ready to come back home as I am sure you are! Huckleberry being well and feeling better is the what matters most. He is getting the care he needed to get over his hump!

Yes, that is the most important thing here. We did have the option to bring him home on that day, but I just didn't have a good feeling about it in my gut. David was talking about how his recovery might be better at home, but you know when you get that feeling that just won't go away? Good or bad, I finally looked at the doc and said "Ok, what do you recommend? I am really at a loss right now" . She offered to hold on to him on a day to day basis and just give him that extra support just in case ( sub-q fluids, injections if the pain meds didn't kick in well enough) and that just sounded like the best decision to make. That's when they found that he had a fever. I know how to take a cat's temp, but with him being so skittish and the "area" to temp him being right next to his little stump that still had staples, I just didn't have that comfort like I normally would.
As I have been sitting home trying to rest and relax, away from work, hanging with my sweetheart, I have had some time to poke further into this blessing of a place that I have found. I have read quite a few of your stories ( Purrkins you sweet thing, you didn't tell me that you were a star!! And such a ham in front of the camera!) Everybody here is simply amazing. In todays world it is so hard to find genuine compassionate people that care. For that I am truly grateful. Thank you so much for the support you have offered so freely.
I have a Prime membership ( David calls me the Amazon princess... 
) and I have used the smile.amazon.com for quite a long time now to give to charities such as the shelter that we adopted Mitchell from. I looked up Tripawds there and found it a little while back. I know it's not much, but for now but every time I make a purchase there is at least a small donation that goes forward. I will tell as many people that I know to try and remember to use smile.amazon and add Tripawds to it to help as much as I can for now. Thank you again for your kindness, friendship, and support. This would have been an even harder road without you all!

He's HOME!!!!!! * still doing the hoppy dance!! * OMGosh it is SO good to have him home! He came in, super muckled mama and papa, inhaled some food (it was gone in minutes!) came back and took turns running his head into papa and I 
I feel like a ton has been lifted off our chests. He has a couple more days of pain meds and an antibiotic called Orbax. I have never heard of that one, but it has been a lot of years since I had the exposure that I had before. He seems tickled to be here after the initial "in the crate" routine, he looks wonderful! He was purring and knitting like a kitten, even licked David's hand. Yeah.. I'm rambling on here but I feel so relieved. He was great in the doctor's office, they showed me the technique they were using to give his meds, and he was a purrrfect gentleman 
Monday stitches come out, he is still cone free. As soon as the doc started pain management he has not gone near them at all. I think she realized after all of this that even when felines are stoic and show no pain, it does not mean that they are not hurting.. big win!
I am going to hop upstairs and spend some time with my boy

I remember Jerry reminding us that when a pet is going after the stitches it could be from the pain. Mona never fussed with the site and did not wear a cone. Her only interest was when cleaning but was satisfied when I did it for her with a cloth. Obviously she wasn't in pain, just a little nutso from the pain meds.
Phew, I sure hope that it's smooth sailing ahead for you all.

As you can imagine, we are all smiles...big, cheesey, silly, relieved smiles I have not let his brothers in to see him yet, he will remain in solitary confinement until tomorrow so that he doesn't have those scary yukky hospital smells on him anymore. In the meantime, mama is washing some stuffies for him to cuddle up and nap with. His reaction to being home makes my eyes fill up with happiness. David took a nap with him after everything calmed down. Of course I did not have my phone with me 
Prince Huckleberry held papa' s hand for the whole nap, and if one of them moved, Huckleberry hunted out the hand and put his little paw on it and fell back to sleep. I miss all the good pictures!
