I think he is going to be ok smiley He is coming out of his shell so quickly now, and he is embracing the idea of being a cat learning how to play instead of just surviving heartheart

This has been going on all day! When David stopped recording they met nose to nose and layed down next to each other.

When I got home from work, I went up to visit.  He ran away as soon as I walked in, but when he heard my voice he came a runnin' to me.  When I cleaned his cage he spooked again but this time I ignored him.  He was back over as soon as I was done 😁😁

Rusty "The Bunnyman" adopted us in 2014.  Aug/Sept 2017, back left leg amputated (HSA cancer).  He remained cancer free over 900 days. Cancer returned as of emergency visit on day 931. 15 days later, he gained his wings 04/18/2020 due to congestive heart failure.  He will always watch over his fellow tripawds and their hoomins with Head Scritches and Sand Paper Kisses.

Lol... you just KNEW it was too good to be true.  Guess who found a way to burrow under the bed?? Um,  ya you guessed it poopicon_pnghead Prince Huckleberry🤤😲🤤😲🤤!! *Shaking head..*  I am trying to woo him out with canned food. His wet food bowl was empty so I'm hoping Fancy Feast will come to the rescue.  I almost got him but as soon as i moved he flew back.  I have no idea how he got under,  he about gave David a heart attack! David started pulling things out from under the  bed and had to move a suitcase to finally see him. That was sometime around 3:00pm.

Might be a long night... might need a glass of wine😂   Damn... What was that song? One step forward and two steps back,  hahaha...

Absolutely love the fact that I was not the only one who went through the finding your way under the bed. The big bad mailman came by yesterday while Rusty was watching front door cat TV. He growled at him and then ran into the bedroom. Couldn’t find him in any of his normal spots so on a hunch I looked under the bed. There were his big eyes peering back at me.

I am glad he is coming out for you! The head butts are wonderful!

The head butts are heavenly.  I feel so lucky to have earned them❤  i went up to tuck him in a few minutes ago.  He didn't even try to escape.  He cuddled,  butted heads,  rubbed my cheek,  knitted,  and i gave him his last meal (he is an evening eater).  Once the lights are out he's like a person on a diet raiding the fridgeclown. He was sweet like nothing ever happened.  I guess after tonight he's not grounded anymorelaughing

Hugs ❤❤❤

Isnt it amazing and frustrating that cats (& very small dogs) know the safety of the ‘Hoomans can’t reach’ bed?!!! We have a king size bed that Hoomans and felines share the top of, but Miss Lily finds refuge under the ‘never In a million years reach her’ bed whenever there is a catastrophic thing like the potato peeler coming out!!!🙀 She comes trotting out two minutes later, but I still haven’t figured the peeler thing out!!!🤔

Rusty, you told that big bad mailman what for didn’t you?!😾👿 I bet that rotten paper waster was quaking in his boots! 😵😖 Good lord, you need to run away afterwards...! That big monster has very big boots and who knows where they’ll go!!! Extra cuddles to you my darling. You fiery Redhead you!😽😻

Hugs and love to all of you beautiful pawrents too!❤️❤️❤️

Good morning!

This whole under the bed thing has me wondering. I think I need some opinions. Once Huck claims the room as his own and is no longer afraid of every little thing should I remove everything from under the bed? He will not have access to this room when all is said and done, I usually keep that room pet free for when mom and dad visit. I have my bedroom though that all the guys have access to throughout the day and night. Oscar cuddles with me at night, sometimes Andy has to jump up and give one of us the cold nose to make sure we are still breathing lol. Of course with that said there is "under the bed" there too. I would hate to finally get to that place where he has run of the house and spends all of his time under a bed. Maybe I should just secure the underneath of our bed so that it's not the first place he runs to? Just thinking ahead and trying to plan this out. Any thoughts, ideas would be truly welcome heart

Good Morning Jackie,
Right now until he is recovered completely to where the incision is healed & no issues I would personally not allow him under the bed. Do you still have his crate out for his safe haven? I would leave that out for him until he longer uses it.

In the future? I don’t block off under our bed. If one of the boys get scared they have places to go to make them feel secure and go under the bed occasionally at those times. They have several safe places to go if they feel the need. If you were going to start the Zyklene see how that goes. I think take one day at a time and see how he is doing overall once his incisions is fully healed and then see if he is always under the bed or not. He shouldn’t be, I don’t suspect he will be. See how each day goes until then and reaccess as you go.

Leave the crate for him for now and keep the bed blocked off for now just my opinion of course. Stuff under the bed so full he can't get under it or put the mattress on the floor. Block it off in anyway you can.

Hugs
Holly & Purrkinsheart
