Tripawds member morganbeth28 sent us this Tripawd Awareness Day story about her dog Penny…

I adopted Penny who is a corgi/sherpard mix  4 months ago from a NY shelter that rescued her from a kill shelter in Alabama. She recently had her front leg amputated. Although the shelter is not a 100% sure why her leg was amputated they think she was hit by a car due to facial scarring on the same side of the face. When i first saw her she was laying down and I thought she was an odd looking dog. Then she got up to greet me and I instantly was in love with this tripawd. Despite missing a leg she still got up to greet me. I couldn’t leave without her.

 Three Legged Dog Penny

Penny is an amazing dog with a big heart. She does everything a four legged dog can do without any issues. She LOVES going on walks and I love when people stop and ask me her story. I’m glad that others thought enough of her to give her another shot at life because she’s the sweetest dog you’ll meet.
