Toast Life with Three Legged Red

Too bad dogs can’t drink wine, because last summer, my pawrents got to try out Three Legged Red, a red wine made by Dunham Cellars of Walla Walla, Washington.

The good people at Dunham were nice enough to send us a bottle last summer, after my Mom told them about Tripawds.

Three Legged Red is dedicated to Port, Dunham’s three legged mascot, who is now romping around the heavens with me.

When we were in Colorado, Mom and Dad wanted to go someplace really special to try out the wine. In August, they packed up one of the jeeps at the ranch, and we went camping at the top of a beautiful mountain. We had cheese and crackers, and Mom and Dad tried the wine. They loved it! Mom says it goes beyond any red “everyday” wine they’ve ever had. It’s a little hard to find, but you can buy it online. Check out their silly review:

Months later, a strange thing happened, the day after I left for the heavens. Mom and Dad were walking around Yellowstone. They were so sad, and feeling really down, so they went into the Old Faithful Inn to have a tasty beverage. When they looked at the wine list, guess what they saw? You got it! Three Legged Red!

Coincidence? I don’t think so!

They had a couple of glasses, toasted our forever love, and basked in our memories together. Now, it’s their favorite all time wine.

Here’s to you and Tripawd pawrents everywhere! And a big Thank You to Dunham Cellars.

Sharing is Caring!

  1. If you love ALL dogs I would please advise you to look into the doggie racism that Dunham Cellars is spreading. They ban all Pit Bulls from there property and deem them vicious because a Pitt Bull type dog supposedly attacked the dog that they ended up adopting and putting on the label. I hope you believe as I do that punishing a whole group because of the possible actions of some (or any dog for that matter) is wrong and you will revise/revisit your post. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

    • Thanks for the comment. We will not be revising this post as you have clearly expressed the concern.

As lovers of all creatures we do not advocate for the ban of any specific dog breed, but as supporters of free enterprise, we believe the owners of Dunham Cellars have every right to prohibit whomever they wish from visiting the property where they make their wine and their dogs run free. Anyone interested can easily follow the links provided to read the story of Port who lost a leg after being attacked by another dog.

Any future comments unrelated to the topic of this post will be deleted as we have no wish to fuel the pit-bull ban flame war that exists online today. We hope readers enjoy this video, and the follow-up interview from our return visit to Dunham Cellars with Wyatt. Cheers!

  3. This will always be one of my most favorite videos because it shows the three of you together. The happy little family enjoying themselves on a beautiful day with Dunham’s Three Legged Dog red table wine. What a wonderful way to spend time in southwestern Colorado (one of my favorite places on earth) since I lived in Durango for several years. Thanks for sharing this with us.
